Biblical Support

The truth of God’s word is under attack! It has become common place for people to not only be uninformed about the biblical message, many are misinformed.

The Bible often seems like an inaccessible archaic book filled with myths, folktales and unscientific speculation. But this opinion is unfounded.

Can truth be found in scripture? Can the Bible stand up own its own merits as a book worthy of serious study?

This is an outline of the above discussions:

Has the Bible been changed?
No, the Bible has not changed, those who copied the manuscripts cared greatly about what they were preserving.

Contradictions & Mistakes
Not errors, but 400,000 textual variants
Only Mark 16:9-20 and John 7:53-8:11 are the only disputed passages

OT vs NT
Phenomenological and Anthropomorphic Language

Manuscript Evidence
Here are the hard facts about the Bible.

  • Entire books of the NT have a gap of only 100 years.
  • There are over 5,600 ancient Greek copies alone.
  • Including other languages, there are well over 24,000 complete and partial manuscripts of the NT.
  • There are well over 36,000 quotations from NT in early writers.

No other classical work comes close to this.
We have determined the Greek NT with exact wording to 99.5 percent accuracy, less than one word per page. The NT is reliable and when we study it we are learning what God intended.

Cultural Trust

  • Slavery – Colossians 3:22
  • Women & Primogeniture – The OT subverts it
  • Scientific confirmations – Not pseudo-science
  • Prophetical confirmations – This is not just coincidence
  • Archeological discoveries – proof of geographical & historical references

Beware of cultural moments causing issues.
